I am a neurodiverse author. I am a husband, father, and disabled Marine. I pursued the American dream until my military service-related injuries caught up with me in my early 30s. Nearing my bachelor’s degree and landing a job in civil service, I would suffer a failed back surgery followed by diagnoses of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and a myriad of other neurological conditions of my physical body, including but not limited to constant tremors and nerve/muscle pain. More recently, Early Onset BvFTD with Parkinsonism. This would force me to give it all up. I would never work again. As my condition worsened, I struggled to make sense of what was happening. Over time, I would become further challenged with substantial memory loss, word loss, and an overall deficit in my ability to communicate effectively. With the support of my loving wife, I decided to write, write, write before my words leave me. I hope to capture my love, my suffering, and my hope that the world could learn from my struggle before my social isolation leaves my story forgotten.
